Speakers don't work in both Desktop and Gaming modes

Your system information

  • Steam client version: 1721173382
  • SteamOS version: 3.5.19
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Opted into SteamOS beta?: No
  • Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I use my Stam Deck Oled in both Desktop and Gaming modes. For some reason, the built-in speakers stopped working all of a sudden. I tried:

  • reboot
  • switching between Default and Speakers audio output sources in the Gaming Mode
  • playing with the audio setting in the Desktop mode

I also noticed that I have only external speakers in the Volume Control Panel linked to the HDMI monitor. If I unplug it, I see "no output or input devices found".

The fix would be to enable the disabled sound card in the Desktop Mode > System Settings > Audio > scroll down.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

None. I don't know how and why my sound card was disabled as I didn't do that for sure. But right before this issue occurred I was using one pair of headphones as a mic, and another (Bluetooth) as a playback device. And using that with all this setup I switched from the Desktop mode to Gaming and then shut down the SD.
