Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I have just purchased the official docking for steam deck recently. Figure how to project the display to my TV with resolution 1920x1808@60Hz. However, the resolution is rather low and when I try to set it to a higher resolution (something like 3xxx x 1xxx) and it mess up the display. Now it ends up with one of the following behaviour:

  • blank screen
  • screen full of white noise
  • TV shows no signal detected
  • TV shows unsupported resolution

I have tried with the following steps:

  1. Turn on the "External monitor safe mode" in game mode
  2. Follow this guide https://steamcommunity.com/app/1675200/discussions/3/3771239049944984767/#c4300445879346263688, to modify .config/gamescope/modes.cfg to "1920x1080@60" in desktop mode.

Both of them fail and now my steam deck docking can only be used as charger only.

Is there any way to fix this issue?

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Set the screens resolution to "3xxx x 1xxx" when you connect to a TV.
