Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
When attempting to sign into WiFi with a captive portal, the whole screen freezes after entering the credentials and attempting to log in. The screen should not freeze after trying to log in.
Sometimes there are other issues, such as the wifi infinitely refreshing the page before you can even open the keyboard, or the device freezing when going back after trying to exit the captive portal.
In most instances I cannot ever get through the captive portal and cannot connect to WiFi without going through desktop mode first to bypass this issue.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
- Log into WiFi with a captive portal (e.g. in a hotel, airport, or plane)
- Enter the credentials and attempt to log in
I see this every day on the train, the SD freezes for 10-30s after tapping "Done"
Updated my comment to note that I cannot actually pass the captive portal and connect without first entering desktop mode.
I'm at the airport now and I'm trying to access United Club WiFi, and it just never let me connect.
when using captive portal, no text shows in steam mode and hangs. if use desktop mode, can use the login portal and get wifi set up. then can exit desktop back to gaming mode and wifi works as a workaround.
I am having the same issue, I am not able to use WiFi networks with a login portal as ithe popup login box is blank and freezes if I try to close the window.
Have this problem too: the portal I use is a simple "Click Accept" wirh no credentials to login. Up to about last month, it worked fine enough (would hang sometimes when logging in but it was acceptable). Now when I go to login, the authentification screen is blank and I have to do go in desktop mode and use Firefox to allow the web page to load and accept.
I also have the same problem, with hotels or airplane WiFis. It shows the captive portal for a sec (or nothing at all) and then completely freezes.
I also experience this. I log in, click "Done" then have to wait 10-30 seconds for the system to become responsive again.
