Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen. I ran Crazy Taxi in both my 3.4.1 deck and my 3.5.7 deck Both are 256 gb lcd decks running the exact same model of 1tb Sandisk card. Game was on the sd card on both On both decks the game is running on the Verified Recommended Proton 7 Version. Both have 4gb uma buffer and cryoutilities 2 on recommended I played the game in Arcade mode at the same settings (800p@60, fullscreen, fxaa no Vsync) and in the overlay 60hz/60fps cap Allow tearing on or off doenst seem to change anything. I checked it because the game just felt noticeably worse on the deck I carry with me vs the one i leave at home. The framepacing is always slightly worse on 3.5.7. The game also on moments has brief frametime spikes on .5.7 These do not occur in 3.4.1 where the game is buttery smooth. I have also noticed this in Forza Horizon 4 (also, for some reason FH4s intro videos dont play on. 5.7)
Video (check the min/maxs recorded + the graph's overall jumpiness and ocasional big hiccups, i know the gpu clock report is irrelevant, something else is causing this :( ) I APOLOGIZE FOR THE TERRIBLE, NO GOOD, ONE-HANDED GAMEPLAY, but what we want is the frametime graph 3.4.1 being super smooth https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X-i18V4QFpq0wqgSiumY7-FO5lwhP2Ay/view?usp=sharing 3-5-7 having worse framepacing even in intro and menus https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X_PiVdEcGkvuOU6H2ODIzauv1czvF9i3/view?usp=sharing 3.4.1 menus/intro https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XcLs_ksg-0wVPk1QjJPz4ZnvCdhviyMq/view?usp=sharing
Steps for reproducing this issue:
- Open Crazy Taxi in 3.5.7 and 3.4.1. Match all settings.
- Check the framepacing of the game side by side with 3.4.1
@lostgoat sorry to bother you
you need to make the links public lol
Crap. Fixed. Anyone with the link can see it
steam-71230.log.txt @lostgoat I'm assuming the issue is still present on my oled deck with the latest updates, was a bit hard to compare the attract demos, but the frame pacing still looks worse compared to 3.4.1.
Does this still happen on SteamOS 3.5.17?
Does this still happen on SteamOS
3.5.17?
Pretty sure I tested it with 3.5.17, so yeah, it's still happening.
