L4D2: Valve server changes my name and crashes game, done by hackers
There is a random Valve server I end up on every so often where I constantly see the same cheaters. They've done something to this server to make it automatically change my name specifically to offensive jokes. They've also seemingly sent fake messages in the server impersonating me. (There was no (1) next to the name when they did this.) Shortly after I connect, my client does what's in the video and then crashes.

I've heard one other person say they've had this same weird crashing thing. Usually I don't have enough time to check status in the console, but every time I have, it was a Valve server. I'm not sure if it's the same Valve server every time, but it's always the same bunch of players.
status output from when I found the server today:

The 2nd from the bottom one is me. That's what my name changes to.

That's not an official Valve server because of the IP, but if the name change is true and it changes the Steam client, then that's interesting
Example of an IP address that would be used in the Virginia region
hm yeah that would be correct. and the host name looks perfectly good. there's a legit 232 and 234, but no 233. cool. cool. more reason for valve to get the fuck on with #5887
