[TF2] New UI scaling is too big
Add an option to disable/customise the new UI scaling since it messes with so many things and some of us liked the smaller UI elements
Few easy to spot examples
Party chat
Backpack items
Friendlist
and theres probably some other places Ive missed but think this should get the point across
Scoreboard scaling is messed up as well
On which resolution does this issue occur?
same issues here, cant see ranks in casual anymore and right clicking items in inventory leads to a huge inspect UI
Seems like even control point caprate could be broken because of this
I doubt the cap rate itself is broken. Is any of this with custom HUDs? They are likely broken after this update, I tested with my custom HUD and it looked broken, but without it it looked just fine
I'm seeing this as well, no custom HUD. 2560x1440 native screen resolution, TF2 running at native resolution.
This happens, regardless of whether using minimal HUD option or not (I usually run with minimal HUD).
The scoreboard issues such as badges not showing are related to custom HUDs. The scoreboard.res file simply needs to be updated with the new changes done to the default HUD.
how do you fix this??? is there anyway, all variations of my m0rehud just are so fucked, 2560x1440
Changes multiple font styles too because of the upscaling, running at 1440p:
Console:
The console font can be reverted back to the older version if you set vgui_ui_scale_height/width to your native resolution, but it doesn't fix anything else other than the source menus
having the same issue. some menus cannot be read at all because the text is cut off. for example the advanced options menu to the left of the regulars options menus on the game's main screen. for example - any slider is so big that you cannot see any of the number values underneath.
actual worst update. never wouldve happened if the tf2 team werent so focused on non-issues instead of the actual ones and theres no way to get rid of it even though there should be a client side toggle

UI scaling being terrible was a huge issue on Linux and bigger screen sizes as far as I know. Just because it doesn't affect you doesn't mean it's not important.
