[TF2] Other players picking up multi-class melee items doesn't change the animation
When a player picks up a multi-class melee like the Conscientious Objector, Prinny Machete, Necro Smasher, etc., the melee idle animation (possibly swinging animation too) that is used is still the same as the previous melee weapon held (this is much more visible with Pyros wielding the Hot Hand).
Recreation steps
- This happened on a Valve Casual server
- Have 2 players in a server, presumably in each others' field of view
- Have a dropped multi-class melee on the ground (in my case, this happened with a conscientious objector)
- Have one player pick up the dropped melee (in this case, the client was a friendly Pyro. I should note that I don't remember what weapon the Pyro had active at that moment, but I know his melee was the Hot Hand).
- Look at the other player's screen. The animation of the item stealer (in most/all experiences I've had with this happening) will be the same as the previous melee held, not updating to have the animation of the new melee.
System Info:
- Windows 11
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Driver version 565.90
Another oddity like this is on the headless horsemann boss currently where randomly he will hold the eyelander like an all-class melee weapon I think this might be a bug from the 64-bit update that no one noticed.
