[TF2] [Driver Issue] TF2 gives a black screen on the Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows* Driver Version 31.0.101.5590 WHQL Certified (Latest)

The issue is that TF2 gives a black screen on the Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows* Driver Version 31.0.101.5590 WHQL Certified (Latest) whenever it is run in dxlevel 90 or Vulkan.

Attempting to run it in dxlevel 81 does show the loading screen, but it never loads, and forces me to hold down my laptops power button to escape (shortcuts do not work for closing it down whilst in the loading state).

This was not an issue with the previous Intel Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics driver, 31.0.101.5534, which works perfectly fine, regardless of version.

I am aware its not difficult to install the working driver, but I still feel this should be fixed at some point, thanks.

As this is a issue related to the driver, wouldn't it be better to report this to the driver manufacturer?

That would probably help, but the bigger question is how would I? I aint seeing anything that allows me to as far as I know... unless im missing something.

I'm not sure if this is correct, but maybe that should be the right place. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057021/graphics/other-graphics.html

But thats for the Graphics Command Center, not really the Intel Arc Control that im using. Is there anything that would allow me to report it on that?

Ah ok, then this should be the correct link! https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000090741/graphics.html

Tried that, went directly through Intel Online Chat Support. Still no obvious solution to the issue, but the hope is that eventually Intel themselves sort it out somehow.

Found an Reddit post from last year regarding reporting bugs to the Intel Arc engineers. Where they also share a GitHub repo that might be useful for this issue.

Appreciated, have sent the issue to this github, and await a response of some kind to it.

Update: They fixed the issue when running in Vulkan, that works like a charm with the new driver, 31.0.101.5592. Still doesnt work on dxlevel 81 or dxlevel 90 however, those still have their respective issues.

Update again: After some troubleshooting (with the help of IGCIT), I figured out why it causes a black screen. Apparently, disabling fullscreen optimizations is what caused it. Re-enabling it fixes the issue.

It still freezes randomly when im playing, forcing me to quit, but the issue at hand seems to be pinpointed. You can peep the issue, and the respective videos here: https://github.com/IGCIT/Intel-GPU-Community-Issue-Tracker-IGCIT/issues/804

That is where ill conclude on this.
