[TF2] 'status' command fails to return all players on very high player count servers

Open megascatterbomb opened this issue 10 months ago • 1 comments

Steps to reproduce:

  • Launch TF2
  • Join a significantly populated server with 100 player slots (97/100 in the example below).
  • Run status in the developer console and observe the output.

Expected behaviour: The output displays information on all players in the server. Actual behaviour: Only a subset of players appear in the output, as seen below (44 players listed in output, but 97 on the server):

Tested on Windows 11 with -vulkan

100 players servers also doesn't show players in the "view server info" on both on the steam server browser and in-game server browser.

And speaking of steam's server browser its reporting tf2 bots as actual players which isn't good, you join a server only to find out that its just tf2 bots fighting each other.
