The sound disappears when entering the Team Fortress 2 server

Open Popochka1488 opened this issue 10 months ago • 8 comments

When entering any server in TF2, I completely lose sound in the entire game, reconnecting Bluetooth headphones does not help. Perhaps this is somehow related to the game transitioning from 32 to 64 bits.

See if the problem is fixed after the latest update, which changed some things related to sounds.

Actually not related to #5730 (atleast not directly) as

  1. It is just most of the audio, but voicelines and shooting sounds still work
  2. It does not disappear when joining a server. But at a random moment mid game

Are you on Linux? If so, this may be related to #2734.

Even after updating, the problem still persists. I have Windows 10, and after logging onto the server, I lose ALL sound in the ENTIRE game.

The console constantly outputs these errors.

This does not happen anymore, because the audio system used by the game was changed, which doesn't trigger SELinux ExeCheap.
