[TF2 x64] TF2 "defocuses" after launch

Launch TF2. After the loading screen, the screen goes black and you return to the desktop, with the game open. Click the tf2 icon to switch to its window. All works fine after.

TF2 should stay in focus during and after startup, but it doesn't.

Ubuntu 22.04, Gnome 42.9

Also happening since forever, during tf2 startup, gnome shows the "app not responding" dialog.

I have the -novid launch argument.
