Symptoms
FPS drop when changing graphical settings, especially on the "performance options". Changing the upscalers lead to worse performance, no matter which they are Setting TAA leads to visual glitches such as overly bright lights and skies.
Reproduction
- Open the game
- Start a new save
- When reaching the starting point, pause and change the settings

- If you change the performance settings to native or any other upscalers, the game will run bad, and if you confirm it, then change to a less demanding one, the FPS won't recover
For further evidence, Yakuza Kiwami 2 seems to be running fine on Windows according to reports from other users in the Yakuza Modding Community discord, but with Proton Experimental on Linux the game slows down too much, especially if trying to play with native resolution rather than upscalers. This happens only when switching from an upscaler to native resolution both in the Main Menu and ingame
Switching to any upscalers makes the game further lag out until leaving the game.
If someone can help, I'll try and answer as much as I can.
A similar problem. I'm using CachyOs with its proton and kernal kernel.
