Symptoms
The game freezes frequently when anti-aliasing is set to TSR. The current audio track continues playing but there are no other sound effects that would indicate the game is running, and the game screen appears frozen.
Reproduction
Ensure the anti-aliasing is set to TSR and play the game; I have found it frequently crashes around the rival interaction screen at the start of a Grand Prix, and when transitioning into the 'Crossworld' sections during the second lap of online races.
@archiemal It's running fine on my end with my ampere and rdna4 cards, can you share all your graphics settings? There's a chance it might be a combination of settings and not just TSR alone
Resolution: 1920x1080 Screen Mode: Borderless Windowed Vysnc: On (I've tried on and off for vsync and still had the issue) Framerate: 60 Model Quality: High Shadow Quality: High Anti-Aliasing: TSR Reflection: High Ambient Occlusion: High Rendering Scale: 100% Blur: On
I have the same behavior with TSR in Abyssus as well. It'll just freeze with the audio still playing. It doesn't crash and I can ALT+TAB to hit the stop button in Steam to get out. The moment I change to TAA or FXAA the problem goes away. The problem happens almost immediately once you get into the game. The menus are all fine. I'm on nVidia driver with a 4090. It happens no matter what resolution, borderless / exclusive fullscreen, etc
GPU: RTX 4090 Video driver version: NVIDIA 580.95.05 Kernel version: 6.17.1 (NixOS) Proton version: Experimental & 9.0-4 (same behavior on both)
This happens to me when the rendering scale is on 150%. As a workaround change the rendering scale to 125% or lower.
Ingame settings:
Resolution: 1920x1080 Screen Mode: Fullscreen (also happenes in borderless window) Vysnc: On (also happenes when off) Framerate: 60 Model Quality: High Shadow Quality: High Anti-Aliasing: TSR Reflection: High Ambient Occlusion: High Rendering Scale: 150% Blur: Off
