Proton Log:
Symptoms
Unable to log in to Microsoft/Xbox services inside Gears of War: Reloaded Beta
Reproduction
- Open Game
- Select Log In with Microsoft Account
- Select Sign In Now
- Error comes up saying Failed to Login: We could not link your Steam to a Microsoft Account at this time
Thank you
Extra Notes: I have installed WebView2 throught Protontricks thinking that would fix it
I have also tried Proton 10.0-1 (beta) and it also seems to not not working Let me try any of the GE builds and will report back
GE seems to have the same issue of not being able to link Steam and Microsoft Account
I tried logging in on a Windows 10 PC Game seems to have a dependency on XALApp (probably related to Xbox) for logging in ~~which seems to be not implemented in Proton~~
It is present inside the Binaries_x64 folder of the game and it seems the game is unable to execute it when running under proton
Adding SteamDeck=1 %command% on Launch Options lets you bypass XALApp and allows you to log in within the game process itself
Should I close this issue now?

Is it possibly trying to use stuff that can only be downloaded from the Microsoft Store like Forza Motorsport and several other recent MS titles do?
