Symptoms
Starting with version 7.0-6 to latest stable proton build (9.0-4), the main menu becomes unresponsive to input and cannot progress, if I drop down to 6.3-8, the menu works again.
Tried it on proton Experimental, but the game seems to now have a habit of freezing up on a black void a second after starting the intro fmvs.
Reproduction
Claim the game for free on steam (or buy it past mar 24th), launch the game on experimental and watch it freeze up, or launch it on stable and see the menu be unclickable
Decided to make a log of mouse click bug with proton stable (9.0-4) incase that also helps.
@waspennator checked on my desktop, found that the game would always hang on every proton version I tested (6.3 through bleeding edge) when the game window is unfocused while a video is playing. The mouse clicks issue is something I could repro with every version after 6.3, but there's a workaround, the game maps left click interactions to the enter key, and inventory (right click) is also mapped to backspace, so the game should be playable if you map some buttons to those two.
@simifor Tried it out again with proton Experimental bleeding edge. It still hangs in gaming mode, but as soon as I swapped it over to desktop mode, it played without issue and I can confirm the clicking bug is fixed now, meaning you can now navigate through the menu and play the game.
I don't know how to refocus to the game in game mode and I dont know why it's doing it with proton Experimental, whereas stable works alright?
Still the same problem, using Proton Experimental or 10.0-3 it hangs on a black screen still in game mode on my oled deck, but dropping to 9.0-4 makes it work for some reason
