Hypnospace Outlaw (844590)

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Hypnospace Outlaw
  • Steam AppID of the game: 844590
  • Proton Version: Experimental

It's a little difficult for me to describe, but the voice for HYPII (in-game voice assistant) is a bit buggy. It starts and ends each time it talks by announcing its pitch. It also won't allow it to read another block of text until you force stop HYPII from speaking by clicking on it.

Here's a video I uploaded to YouTube to show how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFgk0MwEoNw

Apologies for necroing this thread, but this bug still persists in the latest proton beta, 10.0-1. Providing rest of template below: GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060

  • Video driver version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 575.64
  • Kernel version: 6.15.3-2-cachyos
  • Full Sys Info as Gist: https://gist.github.com/Dal1ster/8b6db57a8f8085cffa5e68863be0f01c
  • Proton Version used: 10.0-1 with Proton Voices installed. Symptoms: When trying to use HYPII with proton voices installed, it announces its pitch at the start and end of a sentence, and often "jams up" when reading certain sentences or something interrupts it. While you can manually fix it by clicking on HYPII to stop it, its a short lived temp fix until they say another sentence again.

Reproduction: Set Proton Version to 10.0-1 Install Proton Voices Go to a page in game or make a sticky note with text to read and make hypii read it watch as it tries to speak it but causes it to announce its pitch and lock up.

Both a proton log and a video file showing it are provided. (Log Had to be zipped in order to upload for some reason.
