Symptoms

Game crashes with a fatal error when trying to launch with newer proton versions (anything past 8), and the attached UE5 error is copied to the clipboard. When launched with version 7.0-6 the game launches but no keyboard or mouse input is accepted (from either a connected keyboard or laptops built in keyboard).

Attempt to launch from steam.
