Symptoms

The game freezes when a gamepad is disconnected, forcing the user to kill the process.

Reproduction

Just disconnect any gamepad at any point in the game.

(This only happens when playing the Windows version with Proton, it doesn't happen with the native Linux version of the game.)

This is fixed upstream in https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/merge_requests/6706. Can the fix be backported?

Hello @SuperSamus, looking at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/wine/commits/bleeding-edge, https://github.com/ValveSoftware/wine/commit/58f3d925d43ac1c6b8fe309e2d154ce33864586e has already been cherry picked. You should be able to try that out immediately on the bleeding edge automated build of Proton Experimental (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/wiki/Proton-Versions#proton-bleeding-edge).
