It appears no first time installation things happen for the demo (cannot confirm this as I don't own the full game, this is just the demo).

Same thing happens to me with the full release (2679460). The only difference is that the Wine Runtime C++ Library window only shows the title bar and the content of the window is just white. Also my log file is 2.1 GB, where it repeats the same stack error you had at line 2886:

I've seen that most people who reported on ProtonDB had it working for them, but I also saw one person have the same error as the both of us.

Found the solution. Updating to a newer version of the Nvidia GPU drivers fixes the issue. With Fedora, I followed this guide to get the beta drivers version 560 and the is able to launch

On my machine I've encountered two different issues with the demo:

  1. Steam Input is nonfunctional. I don't think there's any in-game fallback even if you disable Steam Input/Steam Overlay, so I'm unable to play the game with controllers. I can confirm that the Steam Overlay itself is functional and that inputs register properly in the steam client input tester. (there seems to be at least one other user on ProtonDB with the same issue)
  2. Extremely poor performance in 3D scenes, even on lowest possible settings. Menus are buttery smooth, but FPS instantly tanks to single-digits during gameplay. The shader cache does not seem to be the culprit because the issue persists even after clearing it and redownloading.

I get the same audio crackling (Underruns) using alsa-lib-1.2.13 in Metaphor: ReFantazio that I do in Tales of Symphonia (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/822#issuecomment-2326999328) and Ys VIII (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3820#issuecomment-2477846139).

ALSA lib pcm.c:8545:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred

steam-2679460.log

Anything that can be done to resolve this would be appreciated.
