Symptoms
Various instances of text scaling or rendering are behaving unexpectedly, resulting in text and symbols that are skewed.
An early instance of this are the diamond-shaped bullet points on the main menu. They have a distinct tear running through them.
If you open the Option menu, the word "Option" at the top of the screen has a similar tear running through the capital O. You can see the same in the Customize and Gallery menus.
In character select screens, many names of characters will also be skewed in this way. You'll see this with Waldstein, Carmine, Yuzuriha, Orie, Vatista, Seth, Chaos, Wagner and Akatsuki.
Curiously, this seems to often affect the first letter. For example, Akatsuki's name has the tear in the first A of his name but not the second even though both are stylized the same as capitalized AKATSUKI.
Another notable instance can be seen in the Free Training mode. Once you start combat, there is a HUD element in the middle of the screen where every line of text has some form of skewing, such as the A in damage, the V in advantage, the G in guard, the C in combo.
None of this happens when running the game in Windows without Proton.
Reproduction
- Run the game through Proton 8.0-5
- Check any of the examples I described.

In addition to the above, the intro video doesn't play, but it doesn't impact the ability to start up/run the game.
