Symptoms
Cut-scenes don't play. It's just a black screen where the cut-scenes should be.
Reproduction
Start the game.
System Information
- GPU: RX 7900 GRE
- Video driver version: 6.6.14-200.fc39.x86_64
- Kernel version: Mesa 24.1.0-devel
- Proton version: proton-8.0-5c
Symptoms
I can confirm the videos do not work (just a black screen but you can hear audio). Other than that the game is playable, I have also tried GE-Proton8-31 but it makes no difference.
(Additionally I have noted that the first time I tested this game one some old Proton version, I had to force resolution with a launch option -windowed x=640 y=480 so there might be/or was some issue with initial resolution detection too)
The videos are using Bink codec according to ffprobe and they play with VLC, here is probe of the INTRO.bik file: ffprobe.txt
Reproduction
- Launch the game
- You will hear sound but not see anything
- Hit Enter three times and you should see the main menu appear

Still having this issue as of December 2025, tried many different resolutions with the -windows x=number y=number to no avail. Tried Proton 8, 10, experimental and even some GE versions removing the prefix between attempts, and nothing. The symptom is the same, a black window appears and plays some sounds for about 30 seconds, then closes and the game exits/crashes.
