Symptoms
At the start game show message "Failed to load the anti-cheat module."
Reproduction
Always.
I'm also having an issue with the game not detecting my Xbox controller (both wireless and wired).
How can I help debugging this issue? Should I upload some logs? If so, which ones?
This seems to have been resolved, at least for EAC. As for the controller issues that @pmartiner brought up, I also had a similar issue with my PS5 controller, which was resolved by changing the desktop settings for my controller to 'gamepad', which seems to suggest that the per-game settings were being ignored, as when I disabled the controller for desktop, I completely lost any input from my controller, whereas before it was more like bad mapping.
EAC is broken as of today.

Same here, maybe the new kernel?

Probably also something with glibc, try to run the game through the steam flatpak

you are right, with flatpak is working, I would like to rise an arch bug but I am not sure what to post :/ any pointers would be helpful

See #5214, #6051
And https://github.com/anyc/steam-overlay/issues/313 for similar issues, maybe try the arch forums regarding glibc
@GloriousEggroll also posted a patched glibc for arch
@Curve can you link GloriousEggroll's patch?

Edit: Beware, if the patched glibc version does not match the one of your system you may brick it!
Can confirm, having this issue after a pacman run as well now
For those of you having issues with Glibc, I installed the flatpak version of Steam as suggested by @Curve. Everything works fine now.

So I am on Arch, I have no issues launching Multiversus with the EOS EAC, however, the issue is persistent on Rogue Company (with the Anticheat module error on launch). I am using Steam Native, and not the Flatpak version of Steam.
The steam overlay doesn't work, so I can't purchase gleamium. Does it show up for anybody else? Even leaving the launch parameters empty doesn't make it show up.
Hello @luni3359, that reads like #5794.
This is definitely that issue. Do you think you know if there's some way I could get around this to make the purchase?
i use my steam deck and when i'm in desktop mode, my ps5 controller does not work with this game, i have to switch to the steamdeck ui, and in desktop mode the is no steam overlay
The game is broken since yesterday due to an EAC error that says "Failed to initialize dependencies".
edit: Elden Ring suffers the same issue.
The game is broken since yesterday due to an EAC error that says "Failed to initialize dependencies".
edit2: With some help, I've figured out what's the issue.
It was due to an environment variable (SDL_VIDEODRIVER
) that got set for some reason.
SDL_VIDEODRIVER must be unset in evvars for the EAC to load it dependenceies.
To fix it, I had to edit the /etc/profile
file, and replace this string:
if [[ ! -z $nvgpu ]]; then
export QSG_RENDER_LOOP="basic"
export SDL_VIDEODRIVER="x11"
fi
replace it with this one:
if [[ ! -z $nvgpu ]]; then
export QSG_RENDER_LOOP="basic"
#export SDL_VIDEODRIVER="x11"
unset SDL_VIDEODRIVER
fi
Multiversus is currently broken with the Steam beta client (as of today - it worked fine with Steam beta yesterday). The game doesn't launch at all, it changes on Steam to the running status and then stops.
I've switched the Steam client to the stable channel for now - it still works fine with Steam stable.
@linuxiorr Thanks. That actually fixed a couple other games here as well.
Currently broken in both stable and beta.
