Controller Input gets mapped incorrectly or stop working all together seemingly randomly
I just had an issue where Soul Caliber XI had the mappings of all my Xbox controllers incorrect and in some games the controller wasn't detected whatsoever. Simply deleting the game prefixes having the issues to generate a fresh one resolves the issues. I'm not entirely sure what causes this yet.
This isn't the first time I've had to do something like this so I'm assuming it's a bug that is probably going to he hard to isolate.
Proton 6.3.8 and Experimental Pop OS 21.04 It effects all controllers including PS3/PS4 gamepads.

Not sure. The list of games that this happened to me is the following.
Soul Caliber XI (X and Y was A and B and center left stick down became start etc) Resident Evil 2 (B became A and A became B among other things) Temtem (The controller stopped working requiring a delete of the prefix) The Witcher 3 (Same as Temtem, when switching between Wayland and X11 I had to do this twice when setting up a gamestream session). This happened locally without streaming as well, I tested.
A/B (X/O) being switched sounds like changing to Nintendo-style controller layout.
I've started seeing some games that don't work with gamepad despite notification saying gamepad support loaded (PS4 controller). So something is iffy with the gamepad handling now. Switching between Proton versions and back seems to have fixed that somehow (with Resident Evil Revelations).
Same here, PS4 controller. Blue light on controller so connections work ok, but game (in my case FIFA 22) first not respond to antyghing and after a moment shows that no controller connected. After controller restart it's detetcted as other device. So maybe more then one mapping has something to do with that. Anyway very frustrating as new bug that ruins experience badly.
