PROTON_LOG=1 -> https://gist.github.com/dahabakuk/c9f1e0a2543333810b4c1e8d0bdef48e
Symptoms
the launcher starts without problems since proton 5.0 launching the actual game via launcher button there is a blackscreen (should be a video). nothing happens (not responding - force quit - even after minutes)
in proton 4.11 they blackscreen would have a grey bar and u could skip the screen with left mouse click or esc. after that the game just works
Reproduction
see above... switching proton version does make it work again.
If you remove/rename the Video folders it works but when you start a campaign it gets stuck at "click to continue".
@rambo919 videos should be working as long as you have shader precaching enabled. As for the campaign, at least early blitzkriegs starts just fine on my end. If you are still having issues you should attach your proton log, you need to change the game's launch parameter on steam to PROTON_LOG=1 %command%, after you run the game up until the issue occurs, it might have helpful information, you'll find the log in your home folder named steam-268400.log
@simifor that's only true if you are using steam.
I did finally get it playable by disabling gamescope (and virtual desktop when I tried wine)... but the videos still don't play.
This game has a few quirks with sub windows where it in the past tried to open some of them under the main one. That seems fixed now.
Had this game working fine on X11. First time trying it on Wayland, I have an issue where dragging the mouse causes snagging, and clicks often don't register correctly. Need to click multiple times to issue any orders.
