Compatibility Report
Same as previous poster. After pressing play there shows some "running" activity for a few seconds and then it stops with no result.
I would also point out that this is in part a UPlay issue. On a successful launch in Windows there would be a UPlay popup launched requiring separate UPlay login and further steps before the game application would launch.
Currently in Proton the UPlay popup never starts. Attempted with Proton 4.11-11, 4.2-9, 3.16-9 and 3.7-8 . All with same non-start.
I tried launching UPlay.exe from within the Proton prefix and was able to launch it and login to their servers and see my registered game within their app. But attempting to launch the game from inside the UPlay app also fails. Attempting to launch the game from the Steam app while the UPlay app is concurrently running and logged into also fails.
Here is a Proton log from an attempt using 4.11-11 steam-435480.log
still a no go, tried proton 5.0-9 and 5.0-9-next, also tried a bunch of glorious eggroll releases, all with the same results as from march 2019.
Still doesn't work even after 5 years of initial report.
Logs with Proton 10 (beta) below.
There is a crash after log lines:
45562.601:0134:0138:fixme:cryptasn:CryptDecodeObjectEx Unsupported decoder for lpszStructType 1.3.6.1.4.1.311.2.1.4
45562.601:0134:0138:fixme:cryptasn:CryptDecodeObjectEx Unsupported decoder for lpszStructType 1.3.6.1.4.1.311.2.1.4
45562.658:0134:0140:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (0353FF40 00000000): stub
So some dataformat is not supported for some reason?
proton 10 still doesn't works
To my surprise, this works on Proton-GE and proton cachyos.
The game is working fine on my end. Tried with proton 10 and experimental, the game launched, played a mission, a video played. Everything seemed fine.
@rejedai can you wipe the game's prefix, add this to the game's launch parameters: PROTON_LOG=1 %command%, and try launching the game with proton experimental. If the game still crashes, upload the resulting steam-435480.log that will be placed in youyr home folder.
