Symptoms

Runs to at least pull up a sign up window for a account but the text is garbled, overlapped, and input of text for the email doesn't work.

Reproduction

Install, and attempt to run. The window for creating a account if you don't have one comes up, with text overlapped and email box does not recognize or accept input. (This actually seems to be a issue with the nexon launcher or whatever that comes up, MS2 has the same issue with the account window that comes up)

Update on this one, using 4.2-1 it runs, and gets to a screen where it asks if you want to log in or exit. Clicking on the first choice gets you to a point where it says it's logging in, but then it just hangs with no form of escape other than to press the power button and log out/shutdown to get control back(even alt-tabbing doesn't help)

Just an update on this, the game can run on 4.2-5 and yes, I was able to get on one of my characters. However, after around 5 minutes of the game being open, the game crashes with this error:

I feel like this is so close to being playable and I'm excited for that.

That's interesting if it does indeed run. I remember getting loading screens between the two. This game I just have a weird itch to play again every now and then even though I know it's probably a better bet to just boot into my dusty and only used for it win10 partition...

Hello! I thought I'd update this ti share that some people have gotten Mabinogi to work on Linux/SteamOS through the use of Bottles:

I don't know if this could somehow be implemented into Proton, but I thought it was worth sharing. The less hurdles for getting games to run on Linux, the better!

Seems that there's a prevalent issue in which all clicks are duplicated.

I've been using Wine-GE (READ: NOT Proton-GE) and I haven't noticed any issues.

Unfortunately Wine-GE has been archived since early last year and no longer receives updates. I would also like to see a proper fix in proton and and other runners.

I got this game to work using wine 10.10 instead of proton.

Seems to be working using Nexon Launcher on Lutris with Wine version set to "GE-Proton (Latest)". No additional tinkering needed. Duplicate clicks was an issue on GE-Proton10-10, but no longer an issue on latest.
