Ugraph external clock switch ignore on random broken

Open nnbveh opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Hi! Quite some time ago i've requested that the clock setting would ignore the randomization if the external clock signal is connected, and you've implemented it, which was geat! Unfortunately it's broken for some time already, so now every time i randomize the module i have to go and adjust te clock knob manually which is RELLY a flow breaker for me...

Could you place fix it again? Thanks!!!

Hi @nnbveh just to help you as long as this is not "fixed". You can for the time being use the grip module from Stoermelder.

afbeelding

And block the clock from changing when you randomize (you could even choose some more parameters to block if you wanted to)

https://library.vcvrack.com/Stoermelder-P1/Grip

Or download the latest from here

https://github.com/stoermelder/vcvrack-packone/releases/tag/Nightly

PS Download and use the Nightly because it just had a bugfix.

@nnbveh @Petervos2018 I'm in the middle of fixing this issue now, it'll be on the library shortly. I've gone as far as removing Tempo from the randomisation process entirely as, I you think about it, you'd rather want to randomise the pattern selection and keep the tempo locked.

Having said that, it is entirely possible it have a full randomisation mode and another mode just for randomising pattern selection. What do you think?

Hi. For me personally tempo randomization isn't necessary although I can see that someone might want to experiment with that as well, what would be nice is to have an option to randomize the mode( 'euclidean/etc.' )

And yes, separate pattern randomization sounds like a good idea too, maybe a button?
