feature request: built-in compression on freeze

when holding freeze, new notes played will increase the volume until it clips internally. for a use case in ambient music where one uses the freeze control as a sort of sustain pedal, it would be better if there was some internal compression when new input comes in, so that it is much harder to make it clip.
