Support/Guide for censorship from non-Russian countries

It might be a good idea to share this with other countries that are facing similar issues:

  • [ ] China/Chinese (both cantonese/simplified for both sides of the isle)
  • [ ] Vietnam/Vietnamese
  • [ ] Indonesian/BahasaMelayu
  • [ ] Thailand/Thai + Burma/Burmese
  • [ ] Pakistan/Urdu
  • [ ] Iran/Persian
  • [ ] Turkey/Turkish + Turkmenistan/Turkmen + Uzbekistan/Uzbek
  • [ ] Gulf Cooperation Council (with Egypt, Sudan and Yemen)/Arabic
  • [ ] Ethiopia/Amharic
  • [ ] Cuba and Venezuela/Spanish

Some issues:

  1. Do they have the same DPI model as Russia?
  2. What is the report mechanism of these countries?
  3. Where did they source the technology?

It is confirmed that the software works in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and in Iran with some ISPs. It also used to work in Turkmenistan a year or two ago, I'm not sure if it still works. I'm not aware of other countries.

@ValdikSS keep this updated by having people to check ISPs, the more we check, the better we can improve.

@DonaldTsang, DPI systems work more-or-less similar all around the world, yet they differ from ISP to ISP, that's why in my opinion there's no reason to have country list.

@ValdikSS I also think that the country list should be used for translating the documentation of GoodbyeDPI for a wider audience, since the more people use it, the more we can improve the software. But then again that is my opinion.

Combining this with https://github.com/citizenlab/test-lists as testing data might be a good idea.

Different countries may have different approach on blocking data on the level of laws and regulations. Not relevant here but for the sake of the example UK blocks using DNS without DPI. So maybe country list is still a good idea

I'm from Indonesia, some ISPs don't work using goodbyedpi because using Windivert technology it can't work for deeper packages, while if I use Geneva, Zapret, DPI Tunnel, I use Android root mode, Linux can work because Linux has a use netfilter.

I'm from Indonesia, all mobile ISPs & some fixed ISPs are using DPI that sends TCP RST if banned SNI is detected & they do DNS redirection, GoodbyeDPI & encrypted DNS works with some ISPs but not working for some ISPs

DPI Implementation is seemingly different between ISPs & region
