Github Copilot marketing
First I'd like to apologize if this is out of scope of this project, I'm really not sure, so feel free to close it.
Describe the bug Github Copilot marketing is very intrusive. I don't mind people using "AI" if they'd like, but let them chose the desired plugin please.
Please confirm that this problem is VSCodium-specific
- [ ] ~~This bug doesn't happen if I use Microsoft's Visual Studio Code. It only happens in VSCodium.~~ Of course it happens with VSCode, but I'd expect a "FOSS" version not to have this
Please confirm that the issue/resolution isn't already documented
- [x] I checked the Docs page and the Troubleshooting page and my issue is not mentioned there.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Run VSCodium
- See the Github Copilot features in the native UI.
Expected behavior A FOSS version shouldn't have marketing for Microsoft products imo

Desktop (please complete the following information):
- OS: Windows/Linux/MacOS
- Version 1.96.1
Additional context If this is, as I fear, out of scope of this fork, I hope an alternative to VSCode will emerge soon, a FOSS IDE used by (I guess) most of the FOSS developers shouldn't be tied to Microsoft's annoying marketing.
Alright, there's actually a setting to disable it. It should be disabled by default imo though...
I still hope there will be an as-good alternative not tied to Microsoft's marketing choices one day.
Someone please reopen this, it should be disabled by default...
By default, on 1.97.x, there is no copilot settings.
Just updated & copilot is back :(
