Check updated row count when updating existing

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Currently if updating an existing entity affects zero rows - meaning nothing actually was updated - nothing is shown in logs, and no error is returned from API.

Describe the solution you'd like Some non-success status code is returned if an update affected zero rows. Most likely something authorization related, since the most likely reason is that the access control query returned no rows.
