Like described in the related PR this change was intentionally made due to negative feedback about people that had toggled it but was unaware of what it did or how...

This PR has already gone through multiple "design reviews" with @Alportan so design wise it should be good to go, now it's just the code that needs some reviewing!

A potential fix/workaround for this could be to add a transparent border to all the buttons which would ensure they stay the same size.
