Suggestion: A way to force 3rd player camera types

Open DT-is-not-available opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Since in the MOTD you can either enable third person camera or disable it with +thirdperson and -thirdperson I was thinking, maybe add a thirdperson=# MOTD flag with # being the number of block distance from the player to place the camera. In the negatives it would be front facing 3rd person camera, and when that flag is set, it would force the player to have a 3rd person camera. This might take too much time to code though, depending on how much of the current 3rd person camera angle is hardcoded.

may i ask in what scenario this would be useful?

When making a map you want to be forced as a far away third person camera, like a worldmap or rpg type thing, or when making a 2d section in a 3d map. Could just separate forcing 3rd player camera and 3rd person camera distance to make it easier for different scenarios

interesting ideas... it also sounds like these would do well to be combined with some sort of camera lock feature though

A isometric mode would be cool, but I don't know how doable it would be
