2 factor auth already exists in the form of emails containing one time passwords. Do you mean SMS 2FA or app-based 2FA?

Standard RFC 6238 totp would be nice, it's sometimes an annoyance to open up the computer with the email client. Though I suspect they would still like to attach the account to a verified Email address (on their whitelisted hosts) to reduce the number of Alts.
