Redirect `uv-v4.netlify.app` to `universalviewer.dev`

Open stephenwf opened this issue 8 months ago • 4 comments

The uv-v4.netlify.app instance is pinned to version 4.0.0 and is missing a lot of work and bug fixes (around image v3). Would it be possible to redirect this old netlify to the more up to date universalviewer.dev?

We could also add a warning to uv-v3.netlify.app notifying about the latest version, or retired it at some point?

Tried to find a related issue about the website (couldn't find it!). https://universalviewer.io/ which also directs users to uv-v4.netlify.app - ideally that would also point to universalviewer.dev.

@stephenwf, I think the ideal situation might actually be for uv-v4.netlify.app to track the main branch in GitHub, and for universalviewer.dev to track the dev branch. This way, uv-v4 is always the latest stable version, while universalviewer.dev is the bleeding edge. What does everyone think?

In any case, I believe we need @edsilv's help to make any changes here, because he's still the admin on the relevant services/accounts.

I thought that was how things were meant to work already. At least that's how I've described the links I've shared at work:

UV Version 4 https://uv-v4.netlify.app/

Latest dev build, UV4: https://www.universalviewer.dev/.

Edit to add: it would also be really handy if the stable and dev sites were clearly labelled as such, and ideally linked to each other.

I guess some people might still need a test instance of 3, but a note about the latest version would definitely help!
