Some videos won’t play. Retropie.

My scrapes were successful and, for the most part, accurate. But some of my video snaps will not play.

The MIX image displays, then fades but the video doesn’t play. Strangely the background music i have also stops until i highlight another game. This happens with maybe 30-40% of my games.

I’m not sure which version of retropie i’m using. I used Simply Austin’s Nes Mini Classic image as a base then edited some games/systems and rescraped.

Disregard. Solved. Fixed by changing scrape by filename rather than hash+filename

Normally not related to the Scrape by function :s

don't know, maybe it's the "source" who don't "match" your system...

Try to catch video from ScreenScraper DB directly and try (Ask if you can't dl the video directly ;) )

One suggestion: Could the FFMpeg program be added? and that for each downloaded video, transform it to another format with that program with a simple command line. That can be edited from the program to indicate "mp4", "resolution", "bitrate", etc. So all the videos would be transformed to the same format The process would be longer, but all the videos could be played. And even image quality would be controlled to save disk space
