Provide a way to disable pm2-version-check

Open DavidWittman opened this issue 5 years ago • 19 comments

What's going wrong?

Newer versions of PM2 phone home to version.pm2.io, and not all users necessarily desire that behavior.

How could we reproduce this issue?

Run a version of PM2 which contains this commit:

https://github.com/Unitech/pm2/commit/e0fd5188b3a2976ad614a51301f1eb26fb6ab78d

This is still an issue

This could do with a command line option to disable the phone-home functionality. Possibly a CVE should be opened against it.

This is an issue for me too.

I am also interested to see this implemented as a command-line option. How can we get additional visibility for this?

Would Unitech accept a patch to provide this functionality?

This is a security issue, Indeed. I am also interested to see how this could be disabled;

Same… any form of calling home should be opt-in.
