Needed: Line length defaults for the documentation
black takes care of the Python code formatting. #199
The documentation has no standard. This leads to inconsistent formatting within files (79 vs 88 chars) and looks a bit messy.
Let's fix this.
120 chars of length are the default for the Python code. Such long lines are however not suited to block text and interfere with readability. So, Q1: Should lines be 79 or 88 chars long? Q2: Are there any technical precautions we can take to ensure all developers stick to the set limit?
I thought the code line length was 100 or 120? The IDE-guys like longer line lengths.
Nice to have, yes. Needed, no. In the age of type writers, line lengths were set at 66 characters (I think there is a standard for it even). https://baymard.com/blog/line-length-readability says no shorter than 50, no wider than 75.
