Spotify's sharing with telegram feature does not work

When I click on share with Telegram in Spotify's desktop client, it opens up a browser window and asks me to open Unigram, but I can't select a contact to send a song/album/etc afterwards

Does it make any difference if Unigram is closed or open before clicking on the link?

It does not make any difference. Either with Unigram closed or open, after clicking on "Share" inside the broswe window it just opens Unigram but it does not share the link.
