Download progress indicator for builtin updater
Which component should be improved?
UI/UX
Describe your feature suggestion in more detail
The built-in updater should display how many megabytes of downloading it has left to do, and the progress bar should be indicative of that percentage. Right now, the user has no indication of how much of the download is complete, or how many MB there still are left.
(Downloaded 68.06MB of how many? Are we close to completion or are we at like 40%?)
Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell the source ZIP file size - if you download it through Chrome, it also won't tell you the size.
And this file size shows the uncompressed size:
The downloaded file size is 23 MB, not 49.
And this is really kinda infuriating - it's been at least a year, and they still haven't changed that behavior.
And also you can't tell the uncompressed size of ZIP archive by getting it from a header - it simply doesn't have that info.
Seems like this got changed? FF nowadays shows me the progress when downloading artifacts.

Ah, finally!
