How do I know if the miner is working?

Open Stuunyez opened this issue 2 years ago • 79 comments

I have run it but it does nothing if you can tell me how to find out if it works thank you.

If you run the checker then it will say whether the miner running or not, https://github.com/UnamSanctam/SilentCryptoMiner/wiki#how-do-i-check-if-its-mining.

I plan to put it on other computers I'm just trying it on this old pc. but here the miner works or not ? https://gyazo.com/1622c046cb6075dfc66edb95b228cdfe

It's not running in that screenshot, make sure that you have started the miner. Also make sure that the settings are correct, there are some example settings here as well https://github.com/UnamSanctam/SilentCryptoMiner/wiki#example-settings.

tested with the lights settings but it still doesn't work i don't know what i'm doing wrong https://gyazo.com/1622c046cb6075dfc66edb95b228cdfe

That's the same gyazo as before, just load the "Lite" settings, build the miner and then run it, then after maybe 1 minute run the checker. If it works then change the wallet addresses to your own and then try building and running it again.

I put the wrong one, this is the one with the lites settings https://gyazo.com/3d142ba7a24243c1f78334e7fa6c576d

And are you sure that you have run the miner exe, ftn.exe? Did you change any of the settings?

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 10:06 UnamSanctam

just put an icon

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 10:06 Stuunyez

And are you sure you started it? I haven't seen it fail to install before so I don't think that's it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdQZjQp5W-Y I think I did everything right

Firstly the Ethermine port is wrong, SSL is enabled (stratums) so you should use port 5555 and not the non-SSL port 4444. And secondly you started the checker too quickly, there is a 15 second start delay as default (the "Build" tab) so when you started the checker it would still be sleeping. Run the checker now when it's gone a while.

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 10:06 UnamSanctam

still doesn't work https://youtu.be/iQeUL2sWCfM

Try opening the "Advanced Options" and enable "DEBUG", then try building one and running it.

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 UnamSanctam

Still doesn't work,I have activated the debug, is there anything else I can do? Is it possible that this is because of my computer?

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 Stuunyez

Maybe other settings

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 Stuunyez

Download Process Hacker, then open it and right-click the top columns (Name, PID, CPU, etc) and press "Choose columns...", then in the window that appears select "Start time" in the left box and press "Show >" and then press OK. After you've done that press the "Start time" column at the top so that it sorts after start time, then start the miner and check what it's doing (you can also record it).

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 UnamSanctam

This is what I need to download ? : https://processhacker.sourceforge.io/

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 Stuunyez

Yes exactly.

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 UnamSanctam

I didn't understand what to do next. https://streamable.com/oij46h

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 Stuunyez

You'll have to make the window a little bit wider, the "Start time" column is added to the right of the "Description" column.

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 UnamSanctam

Now that I've clicked on it, do I start the miner? https://gyazo.com/c6da74bc54e236d8f45407e617bef7f5

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 Stuunyez

Yes, it will show what programs are started and as such we'll know what doesn't start.

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 UnamSanctam

https://streamable.com/hi935e This is what it does to me

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 Stuunyez

updater.exe is your miner (injector), it was still waiting for 15 seconds ("Start Delay") when you ran the checker and ended the video.

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 UnamSanctam

sorry,I made a new video. https://streamable.com/15gm75

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 Stuunyez

Looks like it maybe couldn't inject the watchdog or miners, do you not get any error message boxes when you enable "DEBUG"? Do you happen to have a 32-bit operating system or something? The miner should only start on 64-bit operating system but I have to ask.

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 11:06 UnamSanctam

Should I remove "watchdog"? I didn't get an error message when I enabled "debug", and I have a 64-bit operating system.

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 12:06 Stuunyez

You can try, then we'll know if it's the watchdog shellcode injection or the miner process hollowing that causes it. Of course it could also be something else but I think those are the most likely.

UnamSanctam avatar Jun 15 '22 12:06 UnamSanctam

still didn't work https://streamable.com/jgjp1t

Stuunyez avatar Jun 15 '22 14:06 Stuunyez

Looks like you might not be able to do perform the process hollowing either, I haven't really seen that before (and no one has ever reported that). Can you try building one with this custom builder https://anonfiles.com/11m5Ocp9yf/Silent_Crypto_Miner_Builder_zip with "DEBUG" enabled?
