Reproduction steps
Created an STL using Alibre Atom3D. Import the part into Cura. It shows on the base plate then crashes.

Thanks for the report. My Windows 10 Pro laptop didn't have any trouble with slicing the model. I used 5.9.0 and 5.10.0. We ask for project files so we can see your settings. Maybe there is something became corrupt in the profile you are using. You can try resetting to a "Standard" profile and see if that will loosen it up. We would need a project file and the Cura.log file to investigate any further.

I will try resetting to Standard. Where do I find the project file and the Cura.log file?
It crashes before I can do anything.

What happens when you try to slice a model from another source (something from ThingiVerse??).

Yes, other items do work with Cura. It seems there is something wrong with my 3D modeling software. I am trying to solve that issue. Thanks for the help.

What happens when you try to slice a model from another source (something from ThingiVerse??).

The modeling software will use a translator to create an STL (or 3mf file, OBJ, etc.) for printing. It is usually that "Export Utility" that is the problem. Maybe yours has options that can be adjusted?
I must always "Explode" a model in AutoCad before exporting it. It will not export parametric objects, only 3D solid objects.
