Integration with physical desktops
It would be great if we can manage physical (real) desktops with ravada frontend to achieve a remote PC access. With this feature, we could add a pool of PCs (e.g. a full lab) and ravada could deliver them to the users in a orderly way. What I imagine, more or less:
- an admin can add real PCs to ravada pool. They would be treated as clones.
- when the admin makes that pool public, the users can connect to the lab.
- ravada delivers a real pc to a user. Ravada knowns when the desktop is used or not, and when the user is (dis)connected.
- ravada can close the session remotely if detects inactivity from the user (like autoshutdown feature when disconnected)
- users could benefit from graphic resources of the real desktops
- Maybe we'll need firewall dynamic modification? Remote desktop protocol on Windows machines? wake on lan? ...?
I know this is a really big feature, but it would be awesome to allow our students to access our labs remotely in situations like we are living these days.
Thank you very much!
