See my course as a student would

As a course admin, there is no way to see my course as a student, for instance to give them guidance on how to subscribe to groups. There could be a feature enabling an administrator to see their course as if they were a student, much like the "Take the role of" Moodle feature or the "Log as" ICTV feature.

Actually, the two features I mentioned are not completely alike. Moodle implements it in a privacy respecting way, as ICTV enables the admin to impersonate someone, not quite what I want actually. Moodle allows you to view your course as a student, but does not allow you to interact with it, i.e. it's read only.

So just to phrase it even more explicitly, "a student" means as any one part of the students would see it, not as one particular student.
