File access issue in Linux

I'm using Ubuntu 25.04. I have an ext4 partition on my HD, but anytime I try to open a srt file on that partition I get an "access denied" error (see attached screenshot). I am able to access other files on that partition without any problems, can also open the same srt file in text editor with full read-write access. I have not modified any system settings at all for the partition.

It seems like you're using an out-of-tree fork rather than a official release version. We cannot provide any support without knowing what modification your binary distribution make.

Please first try switching to the newest official release version.
