Enhancement: Keep the Line Selection Window Open When No Results Are Found

Open bebetoalves opened this issue 9 months ago • 3 comments

Currently, when performing a search in the line selection window, the window closes automatically if no results are found. This behavior can be frustrating because if there is a mistake in the search criteria or some options are not properly selected, the user has to reopen the window and redo the search from scratch.

Suggested improvement: Instead of closing the window when no results are found, display an informative message and allow the user to adjust the search criteria without having to reopen the window.

I think you can use "Apply" instead of "OK" to retain the dialogue if you mean the Subtitle > Select Lines... one.

There is indeed this possibility, but in a way, it also affects usability. If I'm selecting something simple, I have to click "Apply" and then manually close the window. However, if the search terms are correct, I could simply type and press Enter, making the process more streamlined.

Are you saying the dialog does not remember the settings used in this case?
