2 small customizations
Hi folks,
Great job with this. We've been trying to promote github usage across government. This is a nice help and the use of github pages and iframes is just right.
Please pardon my ignorance, but I had a couple questions about the current implementation and if you (or others) are game to lend any thoughts, I'd be obliged.
-
I tried to employ the same tool for an entire github account instead of just one repo (by removing the repo parameter) but no luck. Is there currently (or would it be hard to have a means of saying 'all repos' instead of just one).
-
Would their be a ready means of allowing the above but for multiple accounts (or organizations) at the same time. E.g. ?username=nasa|fcc. One example of a similar effort - http:://gsa.github.com/federal-open-source-repos/
Thanks for any thoughts and great widget. Please keep it up.
Gray B.
Hey Gray, neither of these features are currently implemented but shouldn't be terribly difficult to drop in. I'll poke around this weekend and see what I come up with. Sorry for the wait, just caught this issue in the tracker last night.
Hi Tyler, now it's my turn - sorry for the slow response! But thanks, yes, if there's easy ways to address these points, we'll put them to use. You can see where more of this is going with some notes that I circulated to a group of us that are working on this - http://gist.github.com/3514850.
One of the great advocates of OSS in government recently made some progress with this, too: https://github.com/benbalter/github-widgets.
Hey Gray,
Working on this now and nearing completion. I'm considering showing updates regarding all activity (commits, comments, issues, issue comments, etc) when a repo parameter isn't passed. Any thoughts on this vs. just commit activity?
Should have changes pushed up within the next day or two. Definitely glad to hear there's an effort to embrace OSS in government software, and more than happy to contribute to it. :)
