Unable to wake from screensaver

I recently enabled the Windows screensaver instead of the standard turn-the-screen-off after idling. An unrelated annoyance from screen-off and my monitor led to the switch. Gopher always could wake windows up during screen-off idling by moving the stick. However, neither Normal or Admin Gopher are able to wake from screensaver idling on any movement or button press.

It makes sense, and I bet there's gotta be something in the Windows API that lets you "force" wake up a monitor. To anyone's knowledge, is there something in the Windows API for this?
