New fork being actively maintained

I have set up a fork of this project at https://github.com/kkaja123/Gopher360. Since the current owner/maintainer no longer actively participates in the development and management of this project, I have decided to maintain my own fork.

Since previous attempts to switch maintainers of this project have not succeeded, I feel that it is best to start the new ownership on my fork. My commits were the latest to be merged, but this was back in 2018. Even then, it took the maintainer a few weeks to respond to pull requests. There are numerous issues that have not been addressed and not closed once resolved. I have copied the contents of most of the issues to the new fork. I will be addressing the issues there. I will also attempt to duplicate the work in the currently open pull request on this project.

Going forward with the development of the project, I will try to set up a system to publish experimental builds of the project. This way, those of us who are impatient can get access to new fixes once they have been approved and merged.

I will still try to drive towards a 1.0 vision that @Tylemagne has. I believe many of those features will help to make the application more intuitive to users. Once I have made substantial changes to the application, I will likely try to reach out to web articles that link to this repository and direct them to the newly maintained fork.

Good luck! I'm glad I open sourced it as I did. I knew I would be unable to contribute at times, and I'm glad other passionate users are able to jump on and continue the work. I hope to see it support Win32 someday soon :)

This post was a year ago. Did anything happen? I don't see any changes in your fork...

In #70 someone else also claims to be starting a "GopherRenewed". This fork actually has some changes and a release (but I did not test it).
