Did I find a glitch? Or is this behavior expected?

I put all of my desktop icons into the First Fence, but they still appear on my "un-fenced" desktop. (See screenshot) Am I missing something? Maybe it's something on my end. But I thought I'd report in case it helps:

Any ideas how to make the icons in the fence the only copies I see?

The fence does not actually remove the icons from the deskop, it's more like making a new shortcut, so this is expected.

The current way of doing it is moving it all to a separate folder that's not on the desktop and then dragging the icons to the fence from there.

Is it possible to hide a desktop icon whenever it's placed into a fence?

Stardock Fences has only one copy of the icon whether fenced or unfenced. Since the main purpose of Fences is to organize your desktop, it seems like this is an important feature.

If you delete a shortcut from the fence, it deletes it from the desktop and vice versa too. The only way around this is to drag and drop the shortcut straight onto the fence.

This would change the way the fences work quite a bit, but I agree that it's an important feature. I will address this in the 2.0.0 update, and probably make a selector which operating mode is desired.
